The Eclipse Mage

Year 654 of the New Era. Late Spring.

It has been 654 years since The Unholy Gleam Cataclysm—since the fall of the Mage Empire of Kolhidea. 654 years since the world was cast into an age of survival.

The five nations of this sundered continent have known neither peace nor prosperity since that fateful day. Endless wars, famines, and plagues scour the land, sweeping away lives without mercy. The weak perish, the strong turn ruthless. This is how people become beasts.

Now, a mere scrap of bread is enough to slaughter an entire household. This is the new reality. This is all that remains.

It is forbidden to speak of Kolhidea. Forbidden to recall that it was once a beacon of prosperity, ingenuity, and freedom.

Freedom…

But there is no freedom now.

Not since the darkness took root in the minds of Kolhidea’s greatest mages. Not since they unleashed ruin upon the world.

And so we live in the ashes of what once was.
